Homework Week 8 Sept 30th to Oct 4th

  • October 11th - Philippine Celebration. If you have any large poster, artifacts, books etc about the Philippines that your teacher can borrow for our bulletin boards, please talk to your teacher.
  • October 14th - Philippine report is due. Please start working on it now. [Create a story about an adventure on an island. Include the main character, setting, plot and solution. Use adjectives and your imagination OR visit a Filipino grocery store or restaurant. write about your experience and what you learned.]
  • October 23rd -  Autry Museum Field Trip - Please send in your donations and field trip slip.

  • Please remember to turn in your recorder donations ASAP. We cannot order them until we have all donations. Thank you!

Homework Week 5 Sept 9th - 13th


  • Our new reading unit is "Family and Friends". Bring a picture of family or friends for our bulletin board. You can cut it out from a magazine too.
  • September 13th - Hawaiian celebration.
  • September 16th - Hawaii reports due. Write your own travel brochure encouraging people to come to Hawaii. What will they do? What will they see? why should they visit Hawaii?
  • September 20th - LA County Fair Trip
  • September 26th - 2nd Grade Fundraiser @ Canoe House between 3 - 9pm
  • September 28th - Pancake Breakfast
  • We still need $7 donations for the LA County Fair bus. If you haven't turned them in, please do ASAP.
  • Room 4 & 5 volunteers needed to tie dye t-shirts at home. They will need to be dyed before Sept 16th. If you can, please let your teacher know ASAP.
  • We will spend two weeks on reading "Mr. Putter & Tabby Pour the Tea"
  • There will be no spelling test this week.

Homework Week 1: 8/13-8/16

  • This is the blog version of your weekly homework assignment. Every week carefully read through all assignments and announcement and record important dates on your home calendars.  Parents need to initial each day's box to show that students completed the assignment.
  • All homework is collected on Fridays. Make sure the student's name and number are written on each page, especially the cover sheet. New homework is distributed on Fridays too. We will try to upload homework packets here.

  • At home, check homework folders daily for important notices and announcements.  Homework folders must be returned to school every day.
  • Please make sure student names and numbers are included on all work.
  • For your child's safety, every student must have a completed and updated emergency card on file. Send your card in ASAP.
  • Please send $7 donation for LA County Fair Field Trip Bus and Trip Slip
  • Please send $3.50 for recorder
  • Please send a white T-shirt to tie dye for your child for 2nd Grade field trips
